From Floppy Disks to Fresh New Storage

Paula blogs at Sweet Pea.  Recently, she was looking for a way to store her stockpile of birthday cards.  (She likes to remember birthdays, so Paula keeps a few cards on hand at all times.)  Paula realized that a 5.5 inch floppy disk holder was the perfect size for containing all her cards.

It’s been a while since you thought about floppy disks, hasn’t it?  The one Paula had wasn’t super pretty, so she says, “I decorated the sides with scrapbook paper and made a chalkboard label for the front.”  Paula notes that the floppy disk dividers in the container provide the perfect way to organize cards by age and occasion.  What a creative solution that made use of something that would have gone unused otherwise!

  1. Thanks so much for featuring my project. I love finding new uses for things that would normally go in the trash. Another suggestion is to store seeds in an old floppy disk box. It keeps them organized and is easy to take the box out to the garden for planting.

What a clever idea! Shopping at home for free is always a winner. :)
