Katie from The Casual Craftlete shares a cute repurposing project that is inexpensive and will help keep a child busy this summer. Sweet! This one started with the small wooden box that was packaging for one of the toys her daughter got for Christmas. Finding it hard to toss good wood, Katie had saved it.
When she rediscovered this wood tray recently, Katie noticed her daughter had colored the bottom of it with her crayons. Inspiration struck! She tell us, “This give me the brilliant idea to paint the inside of the crate with chalkboard paint.” Naturally, her daughter loves it! She has a space to draw and write using the chalk, and the sides of the box make it possible for her daughter to tote around her art supplies. Great idea!
