Over at Making It in the Mountains, Kristi has been busy all this month doing home improvement projects. Those projects have left her with a significant pile of scrap wood. She used the scraps to make a rustic art display.
Kristi started by cutting the leftover wood and nailing them together into squares to serve as her canvases. She used her craft cutting machine to create some simple vinyl silhouettes. By applying them to the wood, painting over the vinyl, and then peeling away the vinyl after the paint had dried, Kristi created colorful backdrops for natural wood silhouettes. I love that she chose a moose for this project! A little more roughing up the wood gave the artwork a worn, vintage feel.
