Where you and I might just see empty soda bottles, Nancy sees a green-thumbed opportunity! At Our Peaceful Planet she has created not one but THREE unique planters, including one that’s (drumroll . . . ) self-watering. These planters “take no time at all to make and can be a pretty edition to your kitchen or anywhere with some light that allows them to flourish!”
After removing the labels, Nancy started cutting and filling in the bottles with soil, pebbles (for drainage) and plants. The 32 oz bottle became a trough planter, with the hole cut into the side. She used the tall skinny bottle to create a “stand up herb planter,” noting that “a whole row of these in the window sill” would look great. For the self-watering planter, Nancy used the bottom of the 2-liter bottle to create a water reservoir. A string comes up from the reservoir through a hole drilled in the bottle’s lid and and pulls moisture up into the soil. This is such an awesome idea, and the finished products look great!

Hello.
I love it, that whats very good Idear.
thank you for sharing with us.
This is a great idea! Would also be perfect for a plant class at school (use the 20 0z) or for a Girl Scout or Cub Scout project or a camp setting.
