Funky Sand Dollar Mobile

Ann recently inherited a big bag of craft supplies, including a handful of sand dollars. They quickly became the focus of a Mother-Son art project with her paint-loving preschooler. She’s sharing the details at My Nearest and Dearest. This would be such a fun project, so if you are heading to the beach this summer (lucky!!), keep an eye out for sand dollars!

Ann and her Peanut used “acrylic paints and gold glitter to add colorful layers and designs to the sand dollars,” hoping to create something “funky and homemade.” They painted both sides of the sand dollars, so had to exercise a bit of patience waiting for each side to dry. Once they were finished, she used ribbon to tie them to a painted branch, then hung up her new mobile. Ann is in love with nature mobiles and says “they’re such a simple and fun way to bring some character to a wall.” We agree, this looks so colorful and fun!
