Personalized and Upcycled Tin

At her blog, Literary Spring Designs, Rebecca shares her tips for giving extra personality to a tea tin. Her idea would work really well for any small metal box-I’m sure an Altoid container could be used, too.

Rebecca started by painting the sides of the box with gold nail polish. Not only does this cover any writing on the sides, but it serves to make the tin prettier. Next, she chose a picture to decoupage onto the top of the tin. (She chose a scene she loves in San Francisco, the ballpark with the bridge in the background.) Rebecca notes that it’s best to add more decoupage glue on top of the picture to protect it, or Dimensional Magic works well for this, too. The possibilities for personalizing this project make it a great gift idea!
