Vintage Purse Makeover

Lauren blogs over at The Thinking Closet, where she has quite a story about the lovely vintage purse she inherited. It belonged to a dear family friend, she tells us, saying, ” I have fond memories of visiting her ivy-covered house; we would sit on her back patio, sipping juice from tiny aluminum cans, and then play croquet in her big backyard.”

Recently, Lauren decided it was time to give the purse a new lease on life. So she dusted it off and touched up the leather exterior with leather dye. She was pretty thrilled with the results, and almost called the makeover complete…but then she couldn’t help but thinking how cute the purse would be if it were covered in gold dots. So, Lauren found out: she stenciled pretty gold polka dots all over the purse. I love the new look! It’s a fresh take on a classic vintage purse.
