Painted Orange Table

Ashley from Dirt Stains and Paint experienced the thrill of the rescue when she pulled this little fellow into her car from the curb. She needed a bedside table for her son’s big boy room, and nothing beats free!

The fact that the table was free allowed Ashley the freedom to branch out of her comfort zone and choose a color she normally would have shied away from. I’m so glad she did since orange happens to be a personal favorite of mine {wink}. Ashley customized the painted table with her son’s favorite numbers to finish it off.

Mini Book Pendant Necklaces

Sheri from Awesome Sauce & Asshattery got this patchwork leather purse from the “take-it-or-it-goes-in-the-rubbish box” at her local charity shop. It was exactly what Sheri had been needing to make some necklaces.

Necklaces? From a leather purse? Yessiree! Sheri deconstructed and washed scraps of material from the purse to make these mini leather-bound book pendants. All alone or in a stack, these little books make for a one-of-a-kind necklace. Plus, they could also second as reading material for your daughter’s Barbies {giggle}.

Garden Window Pergola

When a friend called to tell Karen from Somewhat Quirky Design that they were changing out the windows in their house, she immediately drove over to rescue nine of them. The window guy was actually glad Karen was there to take them off his hands.

Cereal Box Art Display Board

If your kids go to any type of school or daycare, they inevitably bring home all sorts of custom creations. At Infarrantly Creative, you can see how I made a special place to display this precious artwork using squares and rectangles cut out of cardboard food boxes.

Using a board from my stash, I adhered the cardboard cutouts to it with Mod Podge. The bright, colorful graphics and text are the perfect look for displaying children’s art, and the clips make it super easy to switch out the pieces on “exhibit” {wink}.

Vintage Suitcase Table

Stacie from Stars for Streetlights loves for her storage to double as décor. After receiving a DIY suitcase table from her parents for Christmas, she decided to try her hand at making her own.

With the help of her grandfather, the mission was complete! This is a great accent table that’s perfect for stowing all kinds of craft supplies and random trinkets. I especially love this idea for repurposing an old suitcase that belonged to a grandparent or another family member. Why let it rot away in the closet when you can display it in a cool way and actually use it?

Cereal Box Notepads

Last year at Infarrantly Creative I did a week-long series featuring different ideas for upcycling cereal boxes. We are one cereal-loving family so there is never a shortage of those colorful cardboard boxes around here.

It is a simple process to turn them into cute little notepads. Basically, it just comes down to some cutting and gluing! I love to have these on hand if I’m in need of a gift on the fly. They are also handy to have in my purse when I am out with the kiddos at a restaurant or anywhere else they might need a little diversion.

Recycled Denim Scatter Rug

Joyce from The Funky Clothespin was inspired by her grandmother’s handmade scatter rugs to make a denim version. She shares at All Free Crafts how you can repurpose thinner denims from shirts and skirts into a rug of your own. denim shirt

The process involves cutting strips of fabric from the denim and then sewing them onto a piece of heavier denim for backing. While it’s undoubtedly a time-consuming process, I love the shaggy look of this rug and how you can achieve an ombre effect by using different shades of blue denim. denim-rug

Clock Face Corner Table

When Dee from My Painted Stuff saw this fabulous corner table sitting in her mom’s garage, she had to have it. Despite its great condition, the table had been cast off to the curb with a “free” sign on it.

Dee knew exactly what this table needed to enhance its unique shape. After a sanding and a couple of coats of black chalk paint, she painted on part of a clock face for the top tier and added text to the bottom. I love Dee’s vision for this piece – very cool!
