Haylie shared on Design Sponge how she upcycled several wooden thread spools into wall hooks. Generally, wooden spools like Haylie’s can be found at thrift stores or garage sales. You may be able to score a whole passel of them from someone parting with their old sewing supplies.

Haylie saved herself a headache by planning where she wanted her spools to go on the wall and then creating a template to guide her drilling. Fasteners inserted through the spools hold them seamlessly to the wall. Wouldn’t they be so cute hanging in a sewing room or craft studio?
