Sweater Pillow

Yvonne of Stone Gable is warming up the beds and sofas at her home this winter with cozy pillows.  She makes hers from old sweaters that she finds at the local Goodwill.  “If you can sew a straight line you can make these sweet sweater pillows!” Yvonne says.

Yvonne has some great ideas for adding cute embellishments to these pillows.  She uses just about every part of a sweater to make these, so there is very little waste.  I think my favorite look is the ruffled pillow–I guess I’d never thought of ruffling a sweater like regular fabric.  Too cute!

Argyle Sweater Pillow

Jenny from DIY Newlyweds was inspired by all the sweater pillows floating around to make one of her own. She started with an old argyle sweater that had been hanging out in her Goodwill pile.

I love how Jenny utilized the argyle print and added the cute rosette from the excess fabric. This is a great way to reuse old sweaters as you pack away your winter clothes. You can also be on the lookout for cute, cheap sweaters at your local thrift store. From prints to solids to chunky knits, there are tons of options out there to fit your style!
