Ashley got moving on her standard sanding and painting process while her son enjoyed crawling around inside the table. Thus an idea was born…
Okay, I have to admit that I really, really {heart} this makeover by Jeanie of Create & Babble. She says, “I’ve had this awful table sitting in my basement for years. It came from an auction long ago….no one wanted it so I took it home thinking I’d do something with it someday. Well, someday finally came.”
Melissa blogs at Toad Turned Prince. She tells us, “I was driving down the street and happened to glance over and see this sad sad coffee table sitting next to a dumpster. I did a U-turn in the middle of the street and headed that way. When I got there, I could see that it had good bones, but just needed some TLC.”
Sara from Thrifty Treasures had a piano bench that had seen better days. She also had a sample can of paint in a bright coral color that she was interested in using. Since Sara usually gravitates towards softer colors, she wanted to try that bright coral on something small, first. The old piano bench was a perfect opportunity.
Jennifer, who blogs at City Farmhouse, was out on her morning jog when she spotted these cane chairs in a curbside garbage pile. She’d been eyeing similar chairs online and at Home Goods, so she was thrilled to rescue them from the trash. She took them home for a makeover.
The Gal at Shabby Gal’s Nest found this dresser on the curbside during her town’s annual spring cleanup. She was able to overlook it’s poor condition and see how pretty those curves could be with some sanding and a fresh coat of paint.
After completing some decorative woodwork above her mantel, Andrea from Funsize Creations, found herself with a ton of leftover wood. Her husband was ready to throw it all away, but Andrea was holding onto all that precious wood with a vice grip.
Reeves from The Weathered Door is always on the hunt for a good project. While at a garage sale she came across this beat up, weathered table sitting apart from the sale items. Reeves just HAD to ask about it, and it’s a good thing she did because the owner planned on getting rid of the table and said Reeves could have it.
