Cabinet Makeover

When you see the before picture of this rescue, you’ll agree with me that Karen of Redoux Interiors has an incredible imagination.  She found this worn out cabinet sitting next to an apartment dumpster, and was able to imagine it’s possibilities as a a rolling cart.

The transformation is breathtaking!  The once shabby, broken down cabinet is now living it up with a country french style and a whole new life on wheels.  The addition of the stenciled burlap curtain was the perfect touch for taking this project from drab to fab.

Karen had to put some effort into making the broken cabinet sturdy again.  Check out her tips for fixing furniture at Redoux Interiors.

Rolling Chalkboard Dresser

Karen from Redoux found this banged up brown dresser in a dumpster on one of her “trash hunts.” She says, “It was brown, dirty, and really, really old.  In fact, I wasn’t sure it was worth saving, but my BIG heart for junque decided to give it another life.” Here it is after Karen pretty much glued the whole thing back together and added casters.

You can see that Karen filled the bottom with baskets where the drawer could not be saved. The other drawer fronts got a chalkboard finish. It looks pretty good for a dresser that even a seasoned junker questioned saving. So good in fact that it didn’t last long at a recent sale!
