Oooh, Pretty! Mason Jar Succulent Planter

Taryn from Design, Dining + Diapers has been sprucing up her bathroom.  She came up with this pretty planter for succulents using scrap wood and a mason jar.

Construction of this planter was simple.  Taryn stained her piece of scrap wood a nice, dark shade.  She attached the mason jar to the wood using galvanized plumbers tape.  Then all she had to do was plant a cute little succulent in the jar, and it was ready for display.  Easy peasy, and it looks great, too.

Halloween Apothecary Jar

As summer is slowing giving way to fall, Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous has already gotten a head start of some Halloween crafts. For just a couple of dollars, she shares how an old pickle jar can become spooktacular décor.

Linda used some glass stain to turn the jar an eerie green and then filled it with packing peanut “brains.” Skulls, spiders, rodents… really, anything gross will work {wink}. Just be creative and decorate to your liking!

Pickle Jar Vase

Ashley from The Latest Find shares a great upcycle project for large glass jars. So if you don’t already have a stash, you’d better start eating some pickles, spaghetti sauce, and mayo (not together, of course)!

Ashley poured some leftover blue paint into her pickle jar, swirled it around to coat all the glass, and allowed it to dry upside down on a cup. A little twine, and she’s got a nice little (and FREE) spot to display some of the beautiful blooms springing up all around!
