Anu has a great idea for Father’s Day over at Nalle’s House. She created some three dimensional art for her husband’s office using a vintage audio reel that she swiped from her own father’s collection.

Beja blogs at Howdy Honey. Her latest project is refinishing a dresser that’s been in the family for quite some time. In fact, it had already been handed down twice before it came to her house.

Susan of Sunflower Hugs tells us, “I found this desk listed for free on Craigslist. It was from a storage unit facility that auctioned off an unpaid unit’s contents and no one wanted it. Then I found a free chair driving home one day.” Lucky! Talk about the perfect combination.

Over at Marty’s Musings, Marty and her husband have completed another awesome rescue. Lately, they’ve been working on projects that use the old windows frames that he found on the side of the road and brought home. Marty was pretty sure one of those windows would make a good frame for a family photo.

Kristin from Bliss at Home recently shared this rescue project at Lacquer and Linen. She started the project with a rescued silverware box that had seen better days, and turned it into a pretty stationary organizer.

At Denise on a Whim, Denise had an old window and decided it would be fun to turn it into a cabinet. She collects strawberry decor, and thought a rustic cabinet would be a good place to keep her collection.

Over at The Hardscrabble Home, Stephanie has been hard at work on an exciting project. ”My daughter and I went on a dumpster dive in a nice neighborhood. No hepatitis shot needed,” she jokes. ”Somebody had moved and their throwaway furniture didn’t make the cut–this dresser was one of those throwaways.”

At House by Hoff, April tells about her latest rescue. ”My husband and I came across a stack of probably 20 huge, old windows on the side of the road a few months ago. I’m not sure if it’s how loud I shrieked for him to pull over, or his quick reflexes, but either way we were in a stranger’s driveway taking their old windows before I could fully process my luck!”
