Versatile Console

Liz Marie, the gal behind Liza Marie Blog, got this old TV console from a Craigslist ad.  When she brought it home, she discovered it was much more beat up than she had realized.  So, she put some elbow grease into fixing it and giving it a painted makeover.

Once the console was painted, Liz Marie realized that it could potentially be a much more versatile piece of furniture than she had realized.  So far, she’s tried styling it as a mudroom/storage bench, extra seating, and as the media cabinet it was meant to be.  It looks and works great as all three!  Seeing Liz Marie’s takes on the different uses for a single piece of furniture really got my mind working on how to switch up things at my own house.

White Headboard Foyer Bench

Jen from Scissors and Spatulas scavenged salvaged her husband’s old, broken, decrepit (You get the idea!) bed as a young boy from her in-laws with visions of turning it into something truly fabulous.

Old Child's Bed

After a few weeks of collecting dust and cobwebs in her garage, Jen realized it was just what she needed for a “Trash to Treasure” contest and turned it into a darling white bench for her foyer. Of course you know that I love that fact that this is a sentimental piece. How fun to be able to tell her kids as they sit on it to tie their shoes that it was once the bed Daddy slept in as a child!
