This little cabinet was discovered in the attic by Camille of Gustave & Voltaire when she moved into her home. “When I saw it I realized how beautiful it could look,” Camille tells us. “Like in that 80’s movie when the plain secretary transforms into a bomb by letting her hair down and taking off her glasses.” Ha!
Do you have a spot in your house that bugs you? For Allison at The Golden Sycamore, it was a corner in her dining room. No matter what she tried to do with it, “It just never felt right.” Then she spotted this corner cabinet on her neighbor’s curb and dragged it home. She put it in the problem corner just to keep it out of the way but fell in love with how it looked there! And once you see what she did with it, you’ll fall in love with it too.
Brooke blogs at Start at Home. While perusing the flea market with her mom, Brooke came across this china hutch–an outdated color, but still in great condition. So she took it home and got to work giving it a makeover!
Eliza of Mama Two has trained her husband well: he keeps an eye out for roadkill rescues, too. This project, though, goes even beyond the road. Eliza’s husband found this little china hutch at the dump.
Marty blogs at Marty’s Musings, where she explains that when she inherited her mother’s china collection, she also inherited the large hutch it was displayed in. Marty was less thrilled about the dated looking hutch than she was about the china, but thanks to her husband, she’s enjoying both heirlooms.
