At Marty’s Musings, husband and wife team Marty and Tim have been working on giving their well-loved kitchen table a makeover. How did they know it was time for a makeover? Well, when your kitchen table top is showing this signs of hard family use (watermarks, scratches, pencil art) like this, it’s time to freshen it up a bit.

Alex blogs at Happy, Healthy & Domestic. She explains how this project started: ”My dad was in town visiting and he needed to pick up some flooring from Lumber Liquidators. While we were out back pick it up, we noticed a pallet in the trash and a bunch of wood to the side. We asked if we could have the pallet and 4 of the wood pieces and they said no problem.”

At The Junk Nest, Jessica has had this little table sitting in her bathroom for a while, now. It was a thrift store find, but she hadn’t gotten around to refinishing it. Recently, Jessica decided it was time to give it a new look.

Aimee blogs at The Vintage Estate. She says, “I agreed to take this table sight unseen through Freecycle…I had no idea how hideous it was going to be!” The table needed a makeover in a big way, so Aimee decided she had nothing to lose, so she’d try something dramatic.

Nicole of DesignItGirl came across this nightstand at the Salvation Army store. It was worn and dated, but had some great details, so she was sure she could give it a new life.

Over at The Woodgrain Cottage, Shayna says, “I recently visited my grandma and we ended up in the garage… She had a little side table that had seen much better days that came home with me.” Fortunately, Shayna could see lots of potential in the little table.

“When we had a few dead trees cut down in our yard last year, I saved some of the stumps to decorate with,” Brandi of Don’t Disturb This Groove explains. She used them on her front porch for fall decor, but recently decided it was time to bring one indoors.
