Trash to Treasure projects
Debbie claims that if she showed us this entire desk in it’s before state at Refresh Restyle, “It might burn your retinas!” Apparently, it was in pretty bad shape. Debbie wasn’t sure how much she could do with it, but I think you’ll agree–it cleaned up nicely!
At Dear Emmeline, this vanity was a drive-by rescue on the night before bulk trash pickup. It’s new owners stumbled on it by pure chance, and were delighted to take it home for a makeover.
At Monkey See Monkey Do, Jennifer says, “This desk was in my parents’ basement for years and was headed for the burning pile…but we saved it. It sat in our garage for a year when we decided to paint the top with spray chalkboard paint and use it for a learning room in our home.”
At Homeroad, Susan found this table on the roadside. The top was somewhat damaged and needed a really good sanding, but she thought it wouldn’t be too hard to give it an upgrade.
Meg’s friend invited her over to go through a shed on her property that was full of old things. Meg blogs at Meg and Mum’s, and you wouldn’t believe the makeover she gave the old secretary desk she found in that shed.
The old secretary desk that Reeves of The Weathered Door had was bland and scratched up. It needed a new finish and a little somethin’-somethin’ to give it a second chance.
Over at Thistlewood Farm, KariAnne had a very shabby wicker desk she’d found at a yard sale. The desktop was pretty damaged, and when some serious sanding wouldn’t fix that, KariAnne had to come up with a plan B. Her solution? Stick-on cork tiles from Walmart.
Katie, who blogs at DIY Del Ray, found an old table by the side of the road and loved the color. She
thought the table would make a great desk for her son who had been asking for a home office in his closet.
