Trash to Treasure projects
Lauren at The Endearing Home was saving the wood baskets that her fall chrysanthemums came in to use next fall, until she came up with a way to upcycle them into something cute for her home. She tried painting one, but that didn’t work out too well. Lauren tells us, “I thought about how these baskets were a little flimsy and it would be nice to make it a bit more sturdy while covering up the bad paint choice.”
Heidi blogs at My Beautiful Mess. She tells us that this old headboard was one she found for just a few dollars at a local thrift shop. Despite it’s condition, Heidi knew immediately how she could use it in her home.
Over at her blog, Reposhture, Kim tell us, “I have recently refurbished a chair I found on the trash and had some left-over dropcloth material laying around. I wanted to make a new wreath for my front entrance but I don’t make traditional wreaths too much.”
Jess of East Coast Creative lost a few trees to Hurricane Sandy. With a big pile of wood in her backyard, Jess has been racking her brains trying to think of a way to use it up.

It’s not hard to find free or deeply discounted used books. They aren’t necessarily books you’d like to read…but Emily of Namely Originals has a great idea for fixing up those books to use in vignettes where an old book might come in handy.
