Party Lights with Faux Beach Glass

“We have a big graduation party coming up this month and I wanted to make outdoor lanterns to decorate the tables and provide a little ambiance,” says Susan at Organized 31.  Luckily she has an extensive collection of glass bottles, all ready to recyle.

Don’t have a collection of your own?  Susan recommends asking a few friends to save their bottles for you–you’ll have bottles galore in no time.  Susan painted the outside of her jars with translucent glass paint, which gave them the pretty color and opaque texture of beach glass.  She wrapped them with strips of red and white scrapbooking paper, to tie in the colors the graduate wanted to decorate the party with.  Battery operated tea lights will keep these lanterns shining all night long!
