Add Grow Creative, Elise decided that while she wanted additional planters to add foliage and color to her deck, she didn’t need them to cost a lot of money or take up a lot of floor space. The solution? A vertical planter made from recycled materials.
Elise saved several aluminum cans. After washing them and removing the labels, she used a really nifty technique to put drainage holes in the bottom of the cans, without denting or changing the shape of the cans. She sprayed the cans with outdoor paint to dress them up a bit, then attached them to the railings of her deck with wire. With the addition of some flowering plants, her vertical container garden was complete!
