Butcher Block Island Goes Industrial

Dena from Hearts & Sharts in in the process of giving her basement man-cave a new style:  vintage industrial.  One of her projects has been turning an ugly old butcher block kitchen island into a sleek industrial coffee table.

The island had been left behind in their kitchen by the previous owners.  When a Craigslist posting resulted in zero takers, Dena decided to repurpose the island into a coffee table.  She removed the butcher block top and added galvanized steel pieces (found at the local hardware store) to the corners to serve as table legs.  Easy-peasy, and it gives just the industrial vibe Dena was going for.
