Amanda from A Piece of Rainbow really, really, loves pallet wood. “I think wooden pallets are like Cinderella, they are beautiful no matter in a dumpster, or being transformed into thousand dollar furniture,” she says. “The natural variations of the wood, the stamps & nail holes, the little and big imperfections, are all gorgeous.”
For this project, Amanda broke down a pallet and cut the boards to the lengths she needed. She built simple boxes using the boards. Next, she printed out some fun vintage graphics, and used wax paper to transfer the images onto the wood boxes. Finally, Amanda rubbed wax onto the boxes to protect the images and make the colors of both wood and graphics deeper. The results are these beautiful, sturdy boxes with a definite vintage appeal.
