“A friend picked this poor chair up off the curb for me,” says Delia on her blog, Revived by Delia. The chair had curvy lines that she loved, but it had definitely seen better days!
Delia decided to make use of the holes available for caning, and decided to go with some kind of woven seat. First, she painted the frame in The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company‘s Slate Grey. To give her woven seat plenty of support, she first created a grid of thin rope. She filled in the spaces of the seat with strips of fabric from old shirts, for an effect similar to a rag rug. The result is a lovely chair!
