Here’s a fun project for spring decor that will let you use any glass jars you’ve been saving. Amy from Stow and Tell U came up with this project that was inspired by the speckled blue egss of robins that are such a part of spring.
“Mason jars are something I always have a boat load of, as we seem to collect an additional one every time we have spaghetti for dinner,” Amy says. To get the speckled effect she wanted, Amy came up with a really interesting technique. She painted her glass jars in pretty shades of pale blue. Instead of putting paint speckles onto the jars, she painted speckles onto pieces of wax paper, then decoupaged the wax paper onto the jar. The effect was a remarkably eggshell like finish on the jars. What a fun decoration!
