Hanging Test Tube Wall Planter

At her blog Hearts and Sharts, Dena tells us, “I keep everything. Everything. You never know when the day will come when you can use something that’s been chillin’ in your stash of craft goods for a couple months.”  Or, in the case of these test tube spice jars, twenty years!  Dena’s mom bought them back when Dena was in junior high, and eventually they joined her stash.

Dena recently figured out a great new use for the test tubes:  vases!  She started by getting a simple pine board from her stash and staining it to look a bit weathered.  A trip to the hardware store resulted in Dena finding metal conduit clips that could function as test tube holders.  She attached these to the board, slipped the test tubes in place, and voila!  She now has a lovely set of bud vases that can hang on her wall!
