Sometimes it’s the little details or a simple change that make all the difference in how an object looks and functions. That was the case with this ceramic flower pot that belongs to Carolyn of Homework. She liked the texture, but the pot lacked personality.
To give the ceramic pot a subtle style upgrade, Carolyn painted over the raised honeycomb-like lines with gold craft paint. “In order to give it a more finished look, I sealed the pot with a pearl glaze,” she explains. “A few light coats and it softened the gold and gave it a shimmery pearlized finish.” The result is a pot for her houseplants that she’s happy to display with her teacup collection. Pretty!
