Fun-Size Furniture Refabbed

When Emily from Elizabeth Joan Designs spotted this darling child size Queen Anne style table and chairs at a friend’s garage sale, she was smitten.  But since she already had a child size table for her own kids, she couldn’t justify the $20 price tag.  Imagine her delight when later that evening she discovered her friend hadn’t sold the set and it was waiting for curbside trash pickup!

Emily brought the table and chairs home, where she went to work sprucing them up.  She spent several days sanding away the original, damaged finish.  She created a custom stain using Rustoleum’s Weathered Gray and Minwax Special Walnut.  ”The combination of these two stains worked perfectly!” Emily says happily.  ”It was exactly the look I going for, a warm distressed gray-ish color.”  She finished the table by applying four coats of Minwax Polycrylic to give the table and chairs a little shine and a lot of durability.  The results are gorgeous!
