At Lake Girl Paints, Deb was itching to try one of the latest trends in furniture design: wood tone chevron. She knew a tabletop would be the perfect spot for it, and was delighted when her daughter-in-law offered up a side table that she had for the project.
First things first, Deb and Rachel removed the existing glass tabletop, and cut a piece of underlayment as a replacement. They also removed the fancy wood corner brackets and replaced them with simpler trim. They used 5 inch lathe pieces to make the chevron pattern, glueing them on to the underlayment, then cutting off the pieces that didn’t fit. Deb and Rachel stained and sealed the tabletop, then painted the rest of the table white. It’s now a lovely two-tone piece, with a fun chevron top!
