When Deb’s friend brought a dresser to her to be refinished, the dresser had been recently dug out of a basement. Her friend wanted it refinished for her home in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. At Lake Girl Paints, Deb shares the makeover.
The first step in refinishing this dresser was giving it a thorough cleaning, inside and out. Deb was inspired by the colors of the mountains for this makeover, wanting the dresser to blend seemlessly into it’s mountain home. Wanting the top of the dresser and the drawer knobs to have a wood tone, she carefully stripped off the old paint and touched them up with brown paint and glaze before sealing them with polyacrylic. For the rest of the dresser, she wanted to go with two-tone paint. She painted the body of the dresser gray and the drawers white, but worked her brush magic to give both colors depth. Peaceful!
