Vintage Wedding Dress Keepsake

At Upcycle Addict, Sherry’s mother sent her wedding dress to Sherry recently, asking her to “Do something with it.”  The wedding dress was truly lovely, but the embroidered fabric had yellowed over time.  Instead of trying to fit the dress into a shadow box, Sherry decided to create something that her mother could touch and hold from the fabric.

Not wanting to cut into the main part of the dress, Sherry cut away part of the dress’s train.  She sewed the fabric into a throw pillow, even utilizing the zipper from the wedding dress for the pillow!  The new pillow was lovely and Sherry’s mother was delighted when it was presented to her.  ”This is so much better than being stored away in a bag in the attic!” Sherry notes.

This is beautiful! What a way to make a remembrance. My mom has a dress I have always admired and as I have been married almost 20 years and didn’t and never will fit in her dress this will probably be one of the best ways to show it off! Great idea!

This design is steller! You certainly know how
to keep a reader entertained. Between your

    almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really
enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that,
how you presented it. Too cool!
