Baby, it’s cold outside….and Taryn from Design, Dining + Diapers has a perfectly crafted rescue project to help warm things up indoors. “Last year, I stumbled upon a big branch that had fallen down in the woods behind our neighborhood,” she tells us, “and I somehow convinced my husband to carry the 8′ branch all the way home for me. He’s the best!”
Taryn had seen pictures of log candle holders, and thought that the fallen branch could definitely be used for that project. However, she wanted to give her version a unique twist by giving the logs a paint-dipped look. She started by cutting several logs in various lengths. Taryn taped off part of each log and then sprayed the rest with paint. (She used white, silver, and gold spray paints for wintry glam.) Next, she used a 1-1/2″ drill bit to drill a circle in each log perfectly sized for a votive candle. Aren’t these candle holders lovely?
