When Deb of Lake Girl Paints spotted this old trunk on the side of the road, and told her husband to pull over, it was late at night and raining hard. “He doesn’t even hesitate anymore,” Deb laughs. “It’s a way of life!”
The trunk was metal, and rusted beyond belief. Deb gave it a good sanding and cleaning before spraying the entire trunk with Rustoleum Hammered Black. Then she painted the insets creamy white and shaded them with a slightly darker color. Deb used some number stencils leftover from another project to paint numbers onto the trunk. Since she already owned a similar trunk, Deb stacked the two trunks together to create an interesting lamp table. What a great makeover!
