Cleaning Up a Bench with Character

When a family member spotted this bench on the side of the road and brought it to Anneke to rescue, it had loads of character….and BUGS!  “As awesome as the seat was, it was damaged by larvae and bugs of some kind. Ewww, gross, and NO thank you!” exclaims Anneke at her blog, This, That & Life.

Luckily, her husband was willing to completely restructure and restore the bench seat, which eliminated the bug problem.  Anneke loved the chippy, worn character of this bench, so once it was repaired, she didn’t do much to the bench besides finishing the new seat with Minwax pickling stain.  Isn’t it lovely?
