Greeting the Season with a Greeting Card Banner

Over at House Revivals, Amanda used a pretty greeting card to create a festive banner for her holiday decor.  She had a card from Christmases past that she hadn’t been able to throw away, because it was so pretty.  What’s an avid upcycler going to do with a pretty card?  Well, use it again, obviously!

For this project, Amanda grabbed the scissors and cut the letters spelling “JOY” off of the card.  She reattached it to a length of hemming tape from her junk drawer, and added some pretty embellishments to create a Christmas banner.  She swagged this banner over a piece of chipped, weathered wood, and layered it with another banner for extra pizzazz.  ”I think it looks sweet with the piece of salvaged beach wood on our mantel,” Amanda says.  So pretty, and so free!
