Over at Nicer Than New, Joan shares her latest find: an adorable mid century mod nightstand. This was an estate sale find that she was able to bring home for just 50 cents.
Joan loved the shape and style of this nightstand, but it did have some cosmetic issues. ”Besides the missing veneer on the drawer, the top was very rough and the varnish was blistery,” she tells us. She sanded the piece and filled in the missing spot of veneer with wood filler. She applied a rich, walnut stain to the outside of the nightstand, but painted the drawers a bright white for a pleasing two-toned looks. Joan kept the orignal hardware, which I think was a good move–it matches the gold legs. Great job on this, Joan!
