This old cabinet door was in great condition–Abby from Chapter 37 loved that it was solid wood, had nice details, and pretty hardware. She decided it could be used as the base for a festive sign.
“Now really, you could use any old word you wanted to make a cute sign,” Abby tells us. ”All you need are some inexpensive wood letters to spell out your word, and some wood glue.” She removed the hinges and hardware from the door and gave it a light sanding. The letters J-O-Y were glued to the front of the cabinet, then Abby painted the whole thing white. She lightly distressed the sign before reattaching the pretty handle, which she’d painted black for some contrast. The cabinet door is now a gorgeous sign for her mantle!
