Being Snowbound Inspires The Making of This Lovely Wreath

“There’s nothing like  a challenge from a group of blog friends to motivate you to create a wreath in just 3 days,” says Susan from Organized 31.  ”Then along comes a snow storm and no way to get to the store.  Big plans for a DIY knock-your-socks-off wreath went out the window.  If necessity is the mother of invention, then the snow storm was the mother of finding items to repurpose into a wreath.”

Susan had originally planned to use one of the vintage 45 records she had as a base for a wreath made of paper straws.  But with no way to get out and buy those straws, she looked around her house to see what was available for repurposing.  An old book in her donation pile made her think of the book page wreaths she’s seen online, and inspired her to change directions a bit with the wreath.  Still using the record as a base, Susan rolled up book pages and hot glued them onto the record.  A simple, sparkly reindeer embellishment gave it just the festive touch it needed.  Isn’t it lovely?
