A Wintry Garland

Here’s a simple decoration that will work for both Christmas and the winter months after.  It was created by Nirupama at Avinash and Nandini, who started with a foraged tree branch.

To make this pretty star and snow garland, Nirupama started by punching out small stars from cardstock.  She mentions that she gave the cardstock a quick spray of silver paint beforehand, so that the stars would have a slight sheen.  She used plain cotton string to thread together strands of stars and strands of cotton balls.  She even let one of her children help with the cotton ball strings!  Once the garlands were threaded, Nirupama simply tied them onto the rustic branch and arranged it on her mantel.  “I think it would look darling in the new baby’s room too,” she points out.
