Forgotten Nightstand Gets a Second Chance

Over at My Repurposed Life, Gail picked up this shell of a cabinet from the curbside years ago.  “It hung out in the garage for years as storage for crates,” she says.  “While cleaning out the garage recently I decided it was time to give it a makeover.”

Gail started by covering the whole thing with a coat of primer.  She has a stash of old windows, and managed to find one in her stash that fit the front of this cabinet perfectly.  Adding hinges, the old window became a door.  Gail installed a shelf inside the cabinet.  She painted the new nightstand using  True Value’s  Easy Care in “Sugar Sweet”.  The finishing touch was adding some old fence wood as paneling in the back, offering a rustic contrast to the clean white elsewhere on the nightstand.  Beautiful!
