Jamie from So Much Better With Age bought this small butcher block table off of Craigslist years ago, and she’s loved having it in her kitchen. She never quite liked how the table looked with her dark floors, however–it was just too much dark wood in one space.
To give the table a new look, Jamie started by sanding everything down. She says that while the legs and sides of the butcher block table weren’t hard to sand down, the top took hours. Once she had the old finishes sanded down, Jamie decided that she liked the look of the natural wood on the butcher block, and left it as is. She painted the legs with a combination of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint “Old White” and “French Linen”. The outcome was a lighter, brighter table that really suits her pretty kitchen. Lovely!
