Over at The Weekend Country Girl, Karen says, “I literally picked up these legs out of the trash at a garage sale. (I did ask first.) They once were legs for a side table and were solid wood. I did not have a plan for them but they were too nice to be trashed!”
A trip to the “As Is” section at Ikea changed all that, when Karen found a couch cushion for $5 that she realized could turn into the perfect bench seating along with those legs. She attached the foam to plywood, and had her husband build a simple frame for the bench. Karen painted the frame and legs with Behr’s “Revival Mahogany”, and upholstered the cushion with some pretty fabric. Now, the Queen Anne style bench sits at the end of Karen’s bed, looking mighty pretty!
