When Brandi of Don’t Disturb This Groove was given more than a yard of sample fabric, she knew it was the solution to dirty laundry strewn across her son’s bedroom floor. Inspired by a similar project she’d seen in Martha Stewart Living, Brandi decided to make a hamper that would hang on the door.
All she needed besides the fabric was a large embroidery hoop. Brandi made the hoop look a bit more sophisticated by staining it with a Minwax wood finish marker–a perfect solution for a small staining project, like this one. She sewed the fabric into a pillowcase-like shape, fit it into the embroidery hood, and hung the new hamper on the back of her son’s bedroom door with a bit of twine. It was a perfect solution to the laundry problem, and it looks great, too!
