At her blog Simply Country Life, Adina tells us that this piece of wood was headed to the garbage because the carvings that had once been on it had broken or fallen off. Even with those carvings missing, she loved the shape of the piece, so Adina saved it from the burn pile.
To begin this rescue, Adina had to remove the partial fragments of carving that were left, and give the piece a good sanding. Then, she painted the boards a creamy white. Next, Adina found some brass coat hooks at the craft supply store and put those of the front of the board. The finished result is a beautiful coat rack that lives at Adina’s house. What an amazing transformation!
