99% of the time here at Roadkill Rescue, the featured projects involve a fresh coat of paint to make them look good again. And I’m all for that. But I can definitely say that there are times when it’s good to think before you paint, like in the case of this dining table that was picked up off the side of the road by Dee of My Painted Stuff.
When Dee brought this table home, it obviously had great lines, and with the included leaves it could seat at least 10 . Wow! The downside was that the wood was incredibly dry, scratched, and stained in some places. Dee nearly broke out the paint right away, but instead decided to inspect the table a bit more. What she discovered was that this table not only transformed from square, to rectangular, to buffet style, but that it was a handmade, limited edition table from a sought-after reproduction company. Instead of painting, Dee washed it down with Murphy’s Oil Soap. The result was nothing short of amazing.
