Grandma’s Rocker Gets a Rockin’ New Look

“This rocking chair was my great grandmother’s,” says Sara at Thrifty Treasures.  “Since it is so special, it is a keeper.”

As much as Sara wanted to leave the original finish, repairs made to the chair over the years had taken their toll on it’s appearance. For that reason, she didn’t feel bad about painting the chair black with homemade chalk paint.  Sara recovered the seat with pretty damask in a gray and black print, and added braided trim to match.  It looks ready for many more years of use, now.
