Measure of a Makeover: Yardsticks and a Serving Tray

At Becoming Martha, Sarah tells about the opportunity of a lifetime.  A friend got permission to go through an abandoned farmhouse and {legally} take away anything she wanted, and she invited Sarah to go with her.  “It was a little creepy at first,” she confesses, “until we went inside and started digging through the dirt to find the gold.”

Becoming Martha yard sticks before

See the vintage yardsticks in that picture full of rescued goodness?  Well, those are the “before” shot for this project.  Sarah had a cute thrifted tray that she’d already painted leaf green.  She cut a few of those yardsticks down to size and lined the bottom of the serving tray with them, for a fun new look.  I love it–and I can’t wait to find out what Sarah does with the rest of her farmhouse rescues!
