Katie of Upcycled Treasures has been eyeing projects that make use of vintage yardsticks for a while, waiting for a chance to make one of her own. When she found a stash of old yardsticks on a recent shopping trip, she decided to combine them with her collection of mason jars to make something unique.
Before she started gluing on yardsticks, Katie used stain that she already had to darken the piece of wood that served as a base for this project. Once the yardsticks were attached to the board, she added stainless still clamps to it. The clamps served as holders for Katie’s mason jars. “Now I can fill the jars with goodies like utensils, flowers, toiletries, paint brushes, crafting supplies, whatever else I want!” Katie explains. I love the touch of whimsy those yardsticks add to this project.
