Karen at Redoux Interiors is used to making over furniture that is old, broken, or otherwise unloved. This time, however, her project started with a piece of furniture that was actually new–shocking, I know! Friends of hers that own rental properties passed on this new bathroom vanity that they had decided not to use during a recent remodel.
Karen re-imagined this bathroom vanity as a kitchen cart! She began by adding a chalkboard panel to the open back. She topped the vanity with reclaimed wood for a work surface. The body was painted using chalkpaint for a straight-from-Grandmas’s-farm feel. Karen added wheels so that the cart could be rolled out into the center of a kitchen for an extra work surface. You’d never guess this was originally intended to house a bathroom sink! Awesome, right?
