Anthro Inspired Dresser Makeover

Karen of Redoux saw this dresser on the side of the road.  She wasn’t the first person to see it there, she explains, “I actually saw a truck in front of me slow down, stop to look at it, then move on to find better curbside shopping goodies.  Their loss, my gain!”  The dresser had a unique design that resembled cottage shingles, Karen thought.

She decided to draw a little inspiration from Anthropologie’s popular numbered drawer dresser for this makeover.  She layered chalk paint on the drawers to get an aged wood look and painted a number onto each of them.  Karen used new wood painted to look old and weather-beaten to update the dresser top, and added wheels to the bottom of the dresser.  For an extra touch of whimsy, she lined the drawers with vintage maps.  I think the newly refinished dresser is even better than the original Anthro inspiration piece!
